Vald. Birn

Can you take the Coating department to the next level and enhance productivity without compromising quality?
Vald. Birn is one of Northern Europe’s largest foundries which produces cast iron products for the industry. The factory has high-tech production equipment and high-volume production cells which are under constant development. The production equipment is state of the art within the industry, where castings is processed and coated to uphold the quality of the customers.

For Vald. Birn to maintain their positions as a one of the market leaders, they have heavily invested in new production methods. Five years ago, they decided to invest in, and install, a CED (Cathodic Electrodeposition) coating process with an integrated powder coating line. The equipment has been installed, and the next step is to maximise the output.

We are looking for a Manager who can take charge of the Coating department and the CED facilities. The task at hand is to make the most out of the facilities with the involvement of the people, to make sure that the quality is upheld, and the productivity is enhanced.

Your organisation will hold around 50 employees which directly or indirectly refers to this position.

Strong people manager with a solid understanding of coating processes
The right candidate has been working as an Engineer or a Manager in a similar position and has a strong understanding of coating/CED processes – preferably from the steel/cast iron industry.  In order for you to have technical understanding of the process, you probably hold a degree as an Engineer (Chemistry, Production, etc.) or similar.

As coating is placed in the end of the production flow at Vald. Birn, it is important for the candidate to have a solid understanding of value streams within production. Collaboration with the other departments in Vald. Birn – e.g. Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain – is essential.

It is not essential that you speak Danish, however it is expected that you live within driving distance of the premises in Holstebro – or at least that you are willing to move close to.
