Senior Environment Advisor - EIA's

TotalEnergies

Would you like to work within Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and are you up for taking on a key role acting as the leader of positive environmental performance?

Then this position in the Environment Team might be a unique opportunity for you. In this role, you will get to manage any activity that could negatively impact TotalEnergies’ global environmental commitments and TotalEnergies DK’s (TEPDK) local environmental performance. Join and help TotalEnergies to maintain their license to operate!

In the Danish sector of the North Sea, Initial oil & gas exploration and production activities began in 1962. Today, field development activities are ongoing, however, several offshore installations are now facing cessation of production and decommissioning. TEPDK has a challenging environmental management duty in the North Sea, which requires ongoing performance improvement to meet regulatory authority and public stakeholder demands.

TEPDK has a strong commitment to managing its environmental impacts that is aligned with TotalEnergies’ ambition to be the responsible energy major.

To meet regulatory and company demands and as a requirement for all planned field activity from minor to major changes, you will assess and control the associated impacts from TEPDK’s oil & gas activities prior to commencement as part of the activity approval process.

As Senior Environment Advisor in the Environment Team of the HSE Department, you will have an overall responsibility of managing the preparation and submission of EIA documentation by an impartial third-party. This also involves liaison with the authorities on the scope of such studies. Moreover, you will get to coordinate environmental approvals from the regulatory authorities for TEPDK to undertake its development, production and decommissioning activities which again upholds their license to operate.

Moreover, you can look forward to:

  • Prepare and submit small ‘Environmental Statements’.
  • Oversee and collaborate with external consultants in their preparation of larger ‘Environmental Impact Screening’ and ‘Environmental and Social Impact Assessment’ documentation.
  • Communicate with project team members, participate in project progress meetings, and integrate environmental requirements into the overall project.
  • Technically review consultant drafts and coordinate final document completion for submission to the regulator.
  • Revise documents in response to regulator and stakeholder comments.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and respond to environmental issues that may arise.
  • Report to management on the progress of all studies and associated budgets.
  • Collaborate with HQ (Paris), other TotalEnergies’ affiliates and other environmental team members to develop environmental and biodiversity information suitable for EIAs, environmental performance reporting and environmental management.
