Mrec is strengthening its operations and is now looking for a skilled and motivated
Controller
to join the team in Helsinki. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to high-quality financial management while working in a small, agile, and highly professional team.
About the Role
As a Controller, you will independently oversee the accuracy and reliability of all financial information for your own customer portfolio, while working closely with the internal team, including the Technical Project Manager and the Asset Manager. The day-to-day work within your portfolio is genuinely diverse and supported by strong collaboration. The Controller is actively involved in due diligence and onboarding processes for new properties and projects, playing a key role in supporting the growth of the portfolio.
As a Controller, you will be responsible for reporting financial information to Mrec IM’s clients and stakeholders, while the actual accounting and reporting for client accounts are handled by external financial partners. You will review monthly reports of individual companies and monitor liquidity to ensure smooth financial operations. Preparing financial statements, overseeing tax calculations, managing interest expenses, and assisting in audits will also be central parts of your work.
In your daily work, you will also take part in budgeting and contribute to the development of financial processes. You will review and approve purchase invoices, calculate tenant-specific charges, and monitor rental activity data. The role further includes various corporate administrative tasks.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who holds a relevant university degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, and who has approximately three years of experience in diverse financial roles. Experience in auditing provides an excellent foundation for succeeding in this position. Knowledge of group reporting and experience in financial roles within a real estate investment company are both considered advantages.
To excel in this role, you work in a precise, efficient, and structured manner and possess strong business acumen. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial management systems are important, as is the ability to communicate clearly in both Finnish and English. We value flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to learn and develop further. The role requires working primarily on-site at Mrec IM’s centrally located office in Helsinki.
