Data Scientist with technical, statistical, and customer-facing skills
DLI Market Intelligence ApS
Do you want to use your knowledge and expertise with advanced statistical- and machine learning methods to provide sophisticated insights to one of Denmark’s strongest industries? Do you enjoy being up-to-date with the newest machine learning techniques, and architectures as well as immersing yourself in complex algorithms and big data? Then we definitely want to hear from you.
To succeed in our journey of international expansion, we, the data science team at DLIMI (DLI Market Intelligence) need a skilled colleague in the role as data scientist/data engineer with a penchant for machine learning to translate complex problems into smart solutions, handle datasets defined by high variety and velocity, and design advanced machine learning pipelines ranging from the acquisition of datasets to the development and implementation of algorithms. As the preferred partner for advanced analytics in the Life Science industry (pharmaceutical), our data science team’s most important task is to reach new heights through the development of innovative algorithms and facilitate the creation of new products and services. Hence, we embrace creativity, curiosity, and space for contemplation as it spurs innovation.
As part of DLIMI you will have a platform for stimulating your personal and professional interest in advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms. With a vast number of different data sources of both “long” and “broad” nature you will need to “get your hands dirty”. However, once you have understood and managed the data you will build models that directly influence the decisions made throughout all of the pharmaceutical industry. The models can support different subjects varying from setting the right price of medicine at the pharmacies, identifying sick patients with a need for medical treatment, to creating end-to-end tools that alert our customer whenever new legislation is being published or when other high-level decisions are made. You will always be questioning if something in Life Science could be done smarter, better, or easier. Sometimes you will reuse a slick model design you have previously worked with; other times you will implement a model you were presented to at a conference or read on a blog. The range of different tasks, both technically and conceptually, we are working on is big, and you are crucial in guiding both colleagues and customers.
You are an ambitious problem solver with great curiosity in the field of ML and DS including an interest in following the latest news and trends. You are confident in working with large scale data streams characterized not only by their volume but also their variety and velocity. You are a skilled programmer that enjoys working in-depth with model building, automation, scaling, testing, and implementation.
To succeed in this role, we believe that
- You are fluent in Python
- You have experience working with SQL databases in any format and have experience in working with large data streams in different formats.
- You have academic credentials within a related data science field such as computer science, mathematics, physics, bioengineering, statistics, engineering etc.
- You have experience with putting your data science toolbox into use. We expect you to have designed and implemented advanced algorithms.
- You have a deep understand of modern ML and AI techniques and their mathematical foundations.
Even better if you
- Are comfortable in a client-facing role with the ambition to lead projects
- Have experience with Azure DevOps, MLOps, Git, Docker, VSCode is a plus
- Have experience working with software developers, project management and agile SCRUM
- Kaggle Expert or higher
- Have experience with ClickUp, or any other Project Management Tool.
What we offer
DLIMI is located within the Life Science House on Østerbro, a high-end meeting place for the life science sector featuring great facilities and sporting lofty ceilings. The personal package includes both financial incentive schemes, as well as an emphasis on a place for employee development, training, and education through continuous personal development.
Presently DLIMI is in the middle of a transition from its traditional product package of BI tools with a view toward building holistic solutions that run across apps, websites, and other platforms for our customers to use the products we build. This means a dedicated focus on Design Thinking, short iteration loops and user-driven engagement. We do this with modern technologies which allow for new data visualizations on emerging platforms such as virtual- and augmented realities (VR/AR/MR) as well as the traditional platforms.
You will become a part of a highly motivated data scientist team with a positive, relaxed, and informal atmosphere, where vigorous discussion and collaboration is key. The Data Science team is the Innovation & Technology department. It is the department’s role to facilitate innovation and that means enablement of specialist knowledge intrinsic in the organisation. We need to bridge pharma-, software-, data- and product development, and identify valuable innovation initiatives and move quickly from idea, to concept, to product launch and into operations.
The recruitment process is carried out in collaboration with the consulting company Compass Human Resources Group.
