The focus of Watson-Marlow Flexicon is design, production and sales of advanced peristaltic filling and capping machines for the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and diagnostic industry. Watson-Marlow Flexicon is part of Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) and sells their advanced technical solutions through WMFTG sales offices and distributors in markets all over the world.

Watson-Marlow Flexicon is looking for a new Design & Engineering Manager that can lead and manage the team of 12 employees, who designs standard and customer specific solutions. The team is also responsible for delivering high quality technical support to customers and colleagues across WMFTG. In this position you will be member of the Management Team consisting of 5 other people, meaning that you will be close to the decision-making processes, enjoy great visibility and have direct impact on Watson-Marlow Flexicon’s future development.

Your employees in the department, represent a number of different technical disciplines such as mechanical engineering, software (automation), hardware and documentation. Your job is to ensure that the team collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders and that the competencies are used in the best possible way in order to achieve established goals.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, your task will be to define and implement a strategy for the Design & Engineering team matching Watson-Marlow Flexicon’s overall strategy. You will be responsible for a project portfolio consisting of ongoing customer specific projects and a number of more general product development projects. The technical support includes everything from clarification of customer needs before a system is ordered, pricing of new solutions, to handling of complaints and support to the service team in the field. Finally, it is your responsibility to ensure that the product documentation is in compliance with relevant standards and legislative requirements.

Ensure continuous improvement in Design & Engineering
We expect you to have a strong technical background and experience with design & engineering. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with design of customer specific solutions and that your experience comes from a highly regulated industry.

As the future Design & Engineering Manager we expect that you are an experienced manager and thrives in developing your team on both the operational and the strategic level.

Furthermore, we expect that you are a pragmatic manager with a holistic view. It is key that your leadership is empathic, and you can listen and act upon your teams needs and ideas – as well as the needs of the customer. You must be experienced in prioritising and able to find pragmatic solutions.

It is a requirement that you are proficient in both the Danish and English language.
