About this opportunity
Join the dynamic team at Peel Hunt as a Finance & Operations Principal and take on a pivotal role within the Danish office. The Danish team consists of 5 employees as well as 3 salespeople operating from the London office.
You will have a multi-disciplinary role overseeing and managing various aspects of the European business with specific focus on the outsourced Finance and Operations functions as well as IT. While certain processing and transaction services are handled out of London, your role will be vital in ensuring smooth operations and financial reporting in Denmark and other jurisdictions where Peel hunt operates.
Responsibilities
Your main tasks are wide, and responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the day-to- day client operational interactions and transactions undertaken.
- Management of the facilities.
- Ensuring that adequate and appropriate systems and controls are in place to manage the risks within the Department.
- Review and approval of new clients and activities of Peel Hunt Europe.
- Work closely with the CEO in Denmark and the Head of Risk and Compliance in improving the entity, proactively identifying areas for improvement, and highlighting any inefficiencies in systems and processes.
- Planning for and managing change in relation to new activities, accounting & reporting requirements, regulations, etc. that impact Peel Hunt Europe.
- Oversight of the outsourced IT, Finance, and Operations functions including management-, financial-, and regulatory reporting.
- Function as a Deputy CEO in the Danish Office.
About you
Ideally, you either have a background as an Accountant or as a Financial Controller from a financial company with an interest in building up a business in Denmark. As an individual, you possess strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and compliance. Your analytical abilities enable you to understand quickly, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. You are ambitious and lead the charge in terms of quality and development. You are adept at making thoughtful decisions and can navigate seamlessly at all organizational levels. You know how to execute, both at an operational level and strategic level.
