Head of Finance, Denmark
Food Folk Nordic
This is an opportunity to be part of a world-renowned brand where you can make a significant impact on the Danish market while growing your career in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
As the Head of Finance, Denmark, you will hold a pivotal role within Food Folk/McDonald’s Denmark, serving as a key member of both the Danish leadership team and the Nordic finance leadership group. You’ll act as a strategic partner and advisor to McDonald’s franchisees while staying closely engaged with operations. Together with the Managing Director, you will oversee the P&L and ensure achievement against KPIs set by Food Folk and McDonald’s.
Key Responsibilities
As the Head of Finance, Denmark, you will lead and manage the finance team, overseeing key areas such as financial planning, analysis, forecasting, accounting, and reporting. A central part of the role is supporting local franchisees, providing guidance, and challenging them to optimize their performance. You’ll ensure the development of high-quality business cases that deliver the necessary returns for both the company and its franchisees.
An essential part of your role will be to communicate complex financial data in a way that is both clear and actionable. You will need to “make numbers talk”—presenting financial results and insights in a way that makes sense to both internal and external stakeholders, enabling them to understand the financial health of the business and make informed decisions.
In addition, you will drive the delivery of efficient financial services, maintaining robust internal controls and risk management in compliance with local regulations and standards. Acting as a trusted advisor across departments, you will collaborate on cross-functional projects while ensuring, together with the group functions and FSS, that the organization meets all legal and regulatory obligations. Finally, you will contribute to the preparation of annual reports and declarations, ensuring a comprehensive overview of financial results.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a higher degree in finance or economics, combined with relevant experience in audit and/or controlling—preferably within FMCG, food production, or a similar fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires a combination of strategic thinking and operational execution, along with the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting.
You’ll enjoy leading a small, competent team and collaborating across the business. With a commercial, strategic, and analytical mindset, you are solutions-driven, process-oriented, and focused on results. Strong interpersonal skills, high integrity, and a willingness to think innovatively will also set you apart. Fluency in Danish and English is essential, both written and spoken.
