As Process Lead Engineer at Green Hydrogen Systems, you will be the go-to person on process engineering. In corporation with their mechanical and electrical team, you are involved in developing process technical solutions to their pressurised alkaline electrolysers from selections of components to dimensioning of piping systems to control of the electrolysis system and testing of it.

In collaboration with the rest of R&D, you will work with development of new, innovative, robust, and cost-effective solutions for the company’s current and future product program. The position requires great professional knowledge and effective interaction with colleagues and Supply Chain. You will help develop competencies across GHS and ensure a continued development of the company’s leading technology.

Areas of responsibility

The Lead Process Engineer is working on conceptual, definition and detailed design for development and platform modification designs to enhance production and improve safety and environmental performance.

The engineering solutions developed must be economically and technically robust. Close liaison with production, engineering and local consultants will be required to provide a cost-effective service. Further, you will be ensuring a robust and safe system/product.

Specific work tasks

Development of process specific solutions:

  • Dimensioning of vessels
  • Calculation of temperature, pressure, flow capacity
  • Writing of P&ID, PFD, specifications, test descriptions and documentation
  • Participate or facilitate HAZOP, FMEA, risk assessments
  • Draw-up of specifications as input for controls and software
  • Cost out projects
  • Scrubber/separator design (dimensioning)
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding technical specifications

Success criteria

You will be a success in the job when you act as a role model and subject matter expert for the team. Further, you should demonstrate an ability to navigate complexity with many open tasks and act as technical authority from the process side on any given project/product. Finally, you will make sure that designs are delivered timely and as agreed regarding safety, quality and according to specifications.

Profile

We are looking for a person with an education within process, energy, or chemistry with extensive experience from a manufacturing technology-focused company. You have deep technical knowledge about or competences within process engineering, thermodynamics and compressible flow. You can demonstrate experience with product development, process technical calculations, numerical modelling, preparation of process and function descriptions.

You are experienced in working with MATLAB, ANSYS/HYSYS or similar modelling tools. You have experience from preparation and maintenance of P&ID and production documentation. A knowledge of standards, especially Machinery Directive, ISO 22734 and EN 60079 among others. You can communicate in English, both verbally and in written.

As a person, you are self-driven, entrepreneurial and exercise initiative. You have a structured approach. You are responsible and can stay focused in a busy environment. Finally, you are a team player and communicate in an empathic and transparent manner.
