The focus of Watson-Marlow Flexicon (in short Flexicon) is development, design and production of advanced peristaltic filling and capping machines for the pharmaceutical, biopharm and diagnostic industry. The products range from simple standard units to customised fully automated filling machines.
Flexicon is part of Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) and sells their advanced and unique solutions through WMFTG sales offices and distributors in markets across the world. To head up the Design & Engineering team, they now need you to take this crucial role in the journey going onwards.
Set the strategic direction
As Design & Engineering Manager at Flexicon, you will be reporting to the General Manager and your role will be both strategic and operational. Your main responsibility will be the day-to-day management of a skilled and passioned team of ten people. You will lead by example and develop the necessary competencies within your team to ensure that all products live up to market requirements and legislative demands.
Flexicon operates in a strongly regulated and growing industry. A newly launched state-of-the-art product platform is predicted to lead to considerable growth in the coming years. To support this development, you will ensure scalability in capacity and define processes for keeping the platform up to date with respect to regulatory requirements and market trends. You will have the overall responsibility for the product development portfolio and the design of customised machines for customer projects.
To ensure that the business stays competitive Flexicon has a high focus on continuous improvements of processes and methods. You will lead this work in your department to ensure that WMFTG’s LEAN programme is fully implemented.
As part of the management team you will also contribute to defining and implementing the overall strategy within Flexicon.
Experienced Manager with technical background
We expect that you have an educational background as Engineer or similar combined with thorough management experience. You are a valued leader, and you know how to encourage a team of highly technically skilled people to develop and perform. You have several years of experience from the machine industry and preferably you have experience with the pharmaceutical industry or other strongly regulated areas. You are proficient in the English and Danish language.
