Market Director - Offshore

For Sweco the year of 2021 set the sails to become a groundbreaking year in terms of sales, revenue, and work in hand in the department of Marine Constructions and Geotechnics. The pipeline for the next many years was secured by winning all major assignments within their market segment.
The department for Marine Constructions and Geotechnics consists of 3 teams: Marine Structures, Geotechnical Engineering, and Hydraulics and Climate. Each team consists of experts within offshore wind that adds to the total pool of experts together with Sweco´s energy department and other offices across Europe.
Now Sweco aim to go even further by allocating a number of new dedicated employees – one of them being a new Market Director to pro-actively engage the market to make Sweco´s existing clients aware of their capacities within offshore wind and to develop new clients.
Your key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be to spearhead Sweco´s offshore wind business to make it grow, deliver technical consultancy and project management to their projects, meet their clients to promote their technical services within offshore wind and collaborate with the strong network in Sweco around the Baltics and the North Sea including offices in Sweden, Norway, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Poland, and Latvia.
Your tasks will be many and versatile but above all : You execute the strategy to unleash the net sales potential and secure EBITA as recruitment of highly skilled resources improve the management / consultancy ratio.
Furthermore you will:
- Spearhead a proactive client relationship towards Sweco´s wind clients
- Perform project management and/or technical consultancy in existing offshore wind projects
- Take lead in the development of their growth strategy for offshore wind
- Perform lessons learned and improve the strategy for next year
- Provide input for Sweco´s merge and acquisition process (MA)
- Secure highly skilled team members and other resources to work under your guidance
- Encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary cooperation
We expect that you will have equivalent share of business development and consultancy in your backpack, and we recognize that both parts are vital for executing a winning strategy as the company goes. You will have the full support of the management, tender team and the company´s many experts within offshore wind.
To succeed in this role, you need to have excellent experience from the market and excellent people skills that will help you to build relation to Sweco´s clients. You must further have a large motivation to succeed and to develop your own business. You have an ability to create results through teamwork and to develop good relationships with colleagues and external business partners and further you have experience of working in an international environment.
This would in our understanding come down to minimum 7 years of relevant project experience preferably from wind developers and consultancy or alternatively contractors.
