Join a Leading Pet Nutrition Company as Nordic Financial Controller in a small ambitious team
As the Nordic Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the company complies with external finance and tax reporting requirements and maintains a strong system of internal controls.
You will be responsible for Hill’s external financial reporting, VAT, and tax compliance across the Nordic region (DK, SE & NO). You will be Hill’s internal guardian and will have a crucial role in developing processes based on the solid foundations that have recently been put in place. This also includes preparing annual accounts and managing local filing requirements.
Lead Financial Compliance for a Dynamic Organisation
You will report directly to the Nordic Finance Manager and work closely with a team of four employees and the Shared Service Centre. You will perform monthly accounting for local overhead costs, manage intercompany account postings, and review the income statement and balance sheet for completeness and accuracy. You will ensure that monthly financial reporting is in compliance with Colgate Financial Policies, review quarterly financial submissions, and prepare the quarterly tax book.
Part of the month end activities will include posting and reconciling the monthly payroll cost, working closely with local HR. Payroll preparation is outsourced. You will also review local overhead spending, prepare the annual budget and updated forecasts for local overhead costs, and issue monthly cost center reports.
Finance Professional with Strong Interpersonal Skills
The ideal candidate will have a relevant educational background in finance or accounting, 3-5 years of experience in a finance role, and experience in tax and financial reporting in the Nordic countries. You should also have knowledge of payroll accounting and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, and a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication skills, be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, have a proactive and problem-solving approach, and be very structured and organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
