About the role

As the Procurement Director at Modig Machine Tools, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s continued success. Your role encompasses strategic oversight of procurement, supply chain, and warehousing functions as well as hands on day-to-day operations.  This multifaceted role plays a critical part in ensuring the company’s success and efficient production.  The position is based at Modig Machine Tools factory in Kalmar. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic procurement plan that supports the company’s goals and needs.
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure the highest quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Sourcing: Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and manage the sourcing process for various categories of goods and services
• Cost Management: Manage and optimize procurement costs while adhering to budget and cost parameters.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and optimize inventory management to minimize overstock or understock situations and ensure smooth production.
• Technology Utilization: Evaluate and implement procurement technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the procurement process.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop the team to maximize performance and engagement.

Qualifications & professional background

To be successful in the role of Procurement Director at Modig Machine Tools, you should meet the following qualifications:

• Relevant education in procurement, logistics, or a related field.
• Experience in strategic management and procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• A solid technical understanding and a general interest for engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
• Proficiency in procurement and warehouse software and tools.
• Ability to handle and negotiate with suppliers at various levels.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make well-informed decisions.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.
