EPC infrastructure projects, processes & governance – a combination of management and leadership

As Senior Manager, you will have both leadership, management, and personnel responsibility for the EPC Project Department with 16 skilled and dedicated employees, as well as a larger group of external consultants, who work on Energinet’s strategic infrastructure projects. The EPC infrastructure projects include the establishment and reconfiguration of strategic gas infrastructure.

Together with your team, you will be responsible for developing the project area, including organizing, executing of the project model, and ensuring the right competencies for new tasks and the possibility of turnkey solutions. It will be your overall responsibility to manage and ensure that the projects proceed in an appropriate manner in terms of quality, time, budget, processes, resources, stakeholders, and suppliers.

You report to the Director of Technology Development & Projects. Together with the manager for the Technology Development, you three make up the technology & projects management team. The management team works closely with the remaining managers in Gastransmission and with other sister companies.

Your key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Staff the strategic projects with competent Project Managers.
  • Ensure the Project Managers’ contribution and well-being in the projects.
  • Personnel management and handling of all HR-related issues and processes regarding hiring, employment conditions, well-being, and competence development.
  • Develop and maintain business processes and project models for the strategic projects.
  • Participate in the steering groups for infrastructure projects and other management forums for infrastructure projects and project portfolios.
  • Be responsible for all external consultants in Gastransmission.
  • Represent the department and the strategic projects’ general cooperation relations and interests within the organization, for example, in relation to governance, IT support, project resource suppliers, support functions, and interaction with the line organization.

The person we are looking for:

You most likely have a background as an engineer or a longer academic education – if not, you have at least a technical understanding combined with industry knowledge.

Proficiency in project management is important, as you need to be able to challenge the status quo in the project management discipline. You have probably previously done EPC and/or infrastructure projects and have shown that you can deliver on your projects. You have a good overview, ensuring that you can both compare projects in terms of resource allocation while also maintaining a general overview of where the various projects are in their phases.

You are familiar with leading and developing employees, as you will be responsible for 16 employees and many consultants. You use your drive to delegate and coach your employees towards the right solution. You thrive with change and development, and it is advantageous if you have experience with change management. You are driven to create results, but you feel good about these being created through and with other people.

Others would describe you with high relationship skills at all levels – both internally within an organization and externally directed. You thrive both in the operational and strategic level, as well as executing on the agreed. You work persistently and structured with documentation, rules, and regulations.

Due to the high level of expertise and volume of projects, you must be comfortable navigating complexity.
