As Head of Technology, you will play a key role ensuring Green Hydrogen Systems is staying at the technological forefront in order to reduce the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH). This is the key factor for producing the alkaline electrolysers and for helping customers decarbonise their operations. Succeeding in continuously making R&D efforts more efficient and output maximising are paramount for GHS.

In this position you will be heading some of the most experienced experts in the industry in the two departments located in Kolding and Lyngby (DTU). As a leader you will be catalyst for their research, ensuring it fits the purpose and strategy of the company as well as oversee the expansion of the technology department. Furthermore, you will be facing external partners – both private and public. You must make sure that Green Hydrogen Systems has access to both relevant research funds and the newest scientific knowledge on the subject. As Head of Technology, you will be reporting to the CTO.

Areas of responsibility

  • Managing the Technology department at Green Hydrogen Systems
  • Participation in R&D Management team
  • Lead the Technology department (currently 15 employees) through functional managers
  • Participating in external meetings/conferences
  • Create strong relations and partnerships with world leading scientists and other technology key players
  • Public funding

Specific work tasks

  • Participate in workshops/conferences and collect information about latest developments in industry and academia
  • Decide which public funding opportunities to pursue in collaboration with Public Funding Manager and CTO
  • Establish partnerships with industrial partners and knowledge institutions
  • Participate in sales support and customer meetings
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmap
  • Planning and prioritisation of resources
  • CTO support
  • Develop IP together with local patent resource
  • Coordinate implementation of new technologies with Head of Development
  • Management of Technology department together with R&D managers

Success criteria

The main success criteria for the position are:

  • Implementation of new technology in the products to reduce LCOH
  • Finding additional funding to the research efforts
  • Develop a world class technology organisation


We are looking for an experienced profile with a relevant educational background within Physics or Chemistry enabling you to both understand and communicate on a superior level internally as well as externally. Therefore, you have an outgoing personality, and you thrive in the role as inspirational lead. Previous management experience is required – preferably from a scientific environment however, your understanding of production and commercialisation of products will be highly important as well.
