Scania Group Security leads the overall direction and management of operational and security risks, with responsibility for the global security of Scania’s employees and protection of company assets.

We are now looking for our next Head of Scania Group Security.

The position

The Head of Scania Group Security is responsible for the strategic management and planning of security and operational risk management, leading the central unit and advising global Scania executive management and operations in the defined areas of responsibility.

The scope includes:

  • Loss prevention (fire and continuity planning)
  • Protective security (assets, personnel, and information)
  • Crisis management and incident handling
  • Incidents investigations (in cooperation with other Scania units)
  • Travel and personnel security programs
  • Site security for Scania’s main site in Södertälje, Sweden (fire safety, hazardous goods, and physical security)

The role requires close collaboration across the Scania global organization, with TRATON Group Security, and with national and international governmental agencies such as law enforcement and emergency services.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global security strategy for Scania, aligned with TRATON Group standards.
  • Lead the Group Security organization and manage external security providers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Advise executive management on security, fire protection, and operational risk topics, ensuring timely reporting and decision support.
  • Conduct risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses and implement mitigating measures across global operations.
  • Supervise, audit, and advise on security and fire protection concepts for new and existing facilities (such as production sites, offices, warehouses, and R&D locations).
  • Establish and maintain a global contact network for security and risk management, fostering strong partnerships with external authorities, industry associations, and professional networks.
  • Promote and embed a world-class security culture across Scania by driving awareness, training, and responsibility at all organizational levels.
  • Promote and support Scania’s development of civil contingency capability and resilience.
  • Ensure professional handling of incident investigations, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You will report to the Head of Group Legal & Compliance. The position, as well as the unit, are located at the Scania HQ in Södertälje. The position requires international travel.

Requirements

We believe you have:

  • A relevant university degree or equivalent education.
  • Several years and a strong track record of international experience in security and operational risk management, from a leadership position in a global company, consultancy firm, or government authority.
  • A solid experience in developing and implementing a comprehensive security strategy that is at the forefront in an international and complex organisation.
  • A balanced business-driven approach to security challenges, demonstrating the ability to integrate risk management with operational and strategic business goals.
  • Strong leadership and change management qualities, with the ability to inspire and align diverse teams locally and globally as well as to build trust and maintain strong relations internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication skills in Swedish (mandatory) and English (both written and spoken).
  • Experience in advising on complex security issues at executive level, as well as across a multinational and -cultural organisation.
