Manager of Power and Permits - Nordics

atNorth

Take end-to-end ownership of power and permitting across the Nordics and play a key role in enabling atNorth’s continued growth.

Lead a Business-Critical Area Across the Nordics

atNorth is a leading Nordic data centre services company specialising in high-performance, sustainable infrastructure for some of the world’s most demanding digital workloads. With data centres across the Nordic region and a strong development pipeline, the company is continuing its rapid expansion to meet growing demand from AI, high-performance computing and data-intensive customers.

As atNorth continues to grow, securing sufficient power capacity, grid access and the necessary permits is becoming increasingly critical. To strengthen Nordic coordination and establish clear leadership across these areas, the company is now looking for a Manager of Power and Permits – Nordics.

Reporting to the Director of Site Development, you will lead a Nordic team of specialists within energy, site development and heat reuse. Working across Development, Sales, Finance, Legal, Public Affairs and Operations, you will ensure that power and permitting considerations are effectively integrated into new developments, customer opportunities and ongoing operations.

Strategic Leadership with End-to-End Responsibility

As Manager of Power and Permits – Nordics, you will hold overall responsibility for ensuring that atNorth has access to the power supply, grid capacity and permits required to support customer commitments and continued growth. You will establish a coordinated Nordic approach, strengthen strategic relationships with grid operators, utilities and public authorities, and lead the team through complex power, contractual and permitting matters.

The role combines leadership with strategic, commercial and operational responsibility and offers significant influence on how atNorth approaches power, permitting and energy solutions across the Nordic region. The role can be based at any of atNorth’s Nordic locations, with regular travel across the Nordics of approximately 4-6 days per month.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, develop and support a Nordic team of highly skilled specialists across energy, site development and heat reuse.
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for power availability, grid capacity and permitting across atNorth’s Nordic operations.
  • Assess power feasibility and grid connection options and advise senior stakeholders on strategies, risks and business implications.
  • Build strategic relationships and lead key negotiations with grid operators, power producers, utilities, municipalities and public authorities.
  • Oversee permitting processes and regulatory requirements relating to building, environmental and emissions matters.
  • Develop commercially viable energy solutions and customer power offerings, including pricing strategies and PPAs.
  • Make atNorth a front runner when it comes to heat reuse from data centers and alternative energy that create value for customers and local communities.
  • Establish consistent Nordic governance and processes and ensure that power and permitting are integrated into site selection and development.

Your Profile

You bring 7+ years of relevant experience within power, utilities, grid infrastructure or large-scale infrastructure development, combined with experience leading highly skilled specialists. You have worked with TSOs, DSOs and/or public authorities and have a solid understanding of power capacity, grid connections, infrastructure agreements and regulatory or permitting processes.

As a leader, you are confident, pragmatic and comfortable taking end-to-end ownership. You combine strategic thinking with strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills, and you know how to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are skilled at creating direction and alignment across specialist teams, functions and countries.

A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred, although equivalent professional experience may be considered. Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in one or more Nordic languages is an advantage.
