Eltel is expanding its operations and launching a new business line, Data Centers. We are now looking for

a Lead Engineer

to take technical ownership of engineering part of this new business area and become one of the key persons within the organisation.

Your location can be anywhere within EU as long as you are willing to visit Finland on a regular basis.

As a Lead Engineer at Eltel, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our Data Center projects by acting as a key technical expert and trusted advisor to both internal teams and customers. You will be actively involved from the early stages of each project, helping to define and shape technical solutions that align with client needs and project goals. Your ability to build trust, communicate complex technical information clearly, and deliver practical, effective solutions will be crucial to your success.

In this role, you will provide engineering expertise during the sales and tendering phases, ensuring that all proposed solutions are technically robust and commercially sound. You will also lead the specification of equipment and materials in close collaboration with customers, suppliers, and partners, making sure all components meet both project requirements and industry standards.

You will report directly to the Head of Data Center Projects.

What are we expecting?

We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with a degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) in a relevant field such as Power Engineering or Power Electronics, and at least five years of hands-on experience in industrial-scale power supply and distribution projects. Fluency in English is essential due to the international scope of the work.

You are a true engineering expert, with deep knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and materials, particularly in medium and low voltage (MV/LV) distribution systems in data center environments. Understanding of all voltage levels and familiarity with project implementation phases are advantageous, as is experience in tender calculations and cost estimation.

We value individuals with strong initiative—those who proactively identify issues, propose improvements, and contribute constructively to team discussions. You bring a customer-focused mindset and communicate effectively, even regarding non-technical factors that impact projects. Your structured and dependable approach ensures timely and high-quality project outcomes.

Experience with power supply and distribution systems in data center projects is highly appreciated.
