Financial Controller
Niconovum
Are you a proactive and business-oriented finance professional who enjoys combining financial expertise with strategic insight? Niconovum is looking for an ambitious Financial Controller who will play a key role in ensuring financial quality, supporting decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
Make an Impact Beyond the Numbers
As Financial Controller at Niconovum you will work closely with the Finance Manager and business stakeholders, taking ownership of financial reporting, compliance, analysis, forecasting, and process development. You will act as a trusted financial partner, helping transform data into actionable insights while contributing to the company’s continued growth and development. For the right person, the role also offers a strong platform for continued professional development, with opportunities to broaden responsibilities over time and pursue future career opportunities within the wider BAT organisation, both locally and globally.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Analyse financial performance, including actuals vs. forecast, and provide clear, actionable insights
- Build business cases, financial models, and decision-support materials
- Act as a financial sounding board to the Finance Manager and wider business
- Actively contribute to forecasting and financial planning cycles
- Own month-, quarter-, and year-end closing, ensuring accurate statutory and Group reporting and general ledger integrity
- Oversee VAT and tax compliance, and act as a key contact for external audits and banking partners
- Partner with BAT’s Global Business Solutions (GBS) centre to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency across shared finance processes
- Ensure and develop internal controls and financial processes
- Drive continuous improvement, digitalisation, and automation within finance
Your Profile
You are a self-driven and analytical finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and making a tangible impact on the business. You combine strong accounting and reporting expertise with a commercial mindset and are comfortable translating complex financial information into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
You are structured, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working and drive improvements. At the same time, you are collaborative and skilled at building strong relationships across functions and levels of the organisation. You are curious about new technologies and how digitalisation, AI, and automation can be used to improve financial processes and analysis.
To succeed in this role, you will likely bring:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- A solid experience within accounting, reporting, and closing processes
- Experience from a dynamic and business-driven environment
- Strong analytical capabilities and business understanding
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with larger datasets
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- The ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with external audits and regulatory compliance
- Fluency in both Swedish and English
Experience from an international organisation, including collaboration with shared service centres, as well as experience from FMCG, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated industry, would be an advantage.
