Global Pricing Strategist
DLF Seeds A/S
We are looking for an experienced and driven pricing professional to build and lead DLF’s global pricing function from the ground up.
In this role, you will become DLF’s internal expert and driver of the global pricing agenda, working at the intersection of strategy, commercial excellence and financial performance to safeguard and strengthen the company’s profitability.
Pricing has been identified as one of seven strategic global initiatives within DLF’s Group Strategy, “Connecting to Grow”. DLF currently has no dedicated pricing capability at the level required for the future, and this newly created role is established to lead that agenda over the long term.
The role reports directly to the Group CEO, underlining its strategic importance and global scope. While the role has no direct reports at inception, the team is expected to grow as the capability matures. Success will depend on close collaboration and securing global implementation — with managing and safeguarding local empowerment as the highest priority.
Responsibilities
As Global Pricing Strategist, your main responsibilities will include:
Establish global pricing governance & capabilities
- Define global pricing policies, standards and decision rights
- Establish proof of concept based on prioritised pilots
- Establish and oversee pricing governance and local compliance
- Set up external trend and competitor monitoring on pricing
- Implement tools for tracking and monitoring of performance, embedded in DLF’s general governance framework
Develop global pricing capabilities
- Build the group-level pricing capability in close synergy with Business Unit commercial organisations, respecting DLF’s strong local P&L responsibility
- Establish continuous collaboration with BU commercial organisations
- Assess and address the need for training and behavioural change management within commercial organisations
- Drive DLF’s progression along the pricing maturity ladder, from ad hoc to operational and ultimately strategic pricing
Business partnering
- Contribute insights on pricing, margin optimisation and product life-cycle management to global and regional commercial initiatives
- Act as a trusted sparring partner to Group Executive Management, BU CFOs and commercial leaders across the organisation
- Interface closely with Group Business Finance, including Performance Management and BI & Data
Growth potential
This is a highly strategic and visible role at the heart of DLF’s transformation agenda. A key challenge – and opportunity – will be building a pricing function from the ground up in an organisation with strong local P&L cultures, creating buy-in and driving change across diverse geographies and business units, in close partnership with the commercial line.
You will have a clear mandate to translate strategic intent into tangible financial results, delivering significant gross margin improvement through prioritised pilots. Operating at group level with CEO-level visibility, you will have the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on one of the world’s leading seed companies, building a capability that contributes to a substantial increase in EBIT over the long term.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who can operate both as an individual expert contributor and as a leader, capable of influencing at the most senior levels while rolling up their sleeves to deliver in a lean, project-oriented environment. Given the transformative nature of the role, you are comfortable navigating ambiguity and executing end-to-end.
You likely bring
- A relevant master’s degree in business, economics, finance or a related field; executive education with a focus on commercial excellence and pricing strategy.
- A strong, proven experience in pricing and commercial excellence, including designing and implementing pricing strategies, governance frameworks and commercial processes in complex organisations
- Experience from a consulting background or from leading pricing transformation programmes
- A proven ability to lead transformations end-to-end, from analysis and conceptualization through planning to execution, in close collaboration with partners across the organisation
- Experience driving behavioral change in commercial organisations
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with change management
- Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels, including experience working closely with Group shared functions such as Finance and IT, as well as across business units
