As Compliance Senior Manager, you will have the global compliance responsibility for Monjasa A/S. You and your team of Compliance Analysts will be safeguarding Monjasa’s business by vetting counterparts, product origin, vessels, and transactions through a joint people & system approach.
Overall, your areas of focus will be:
- To continuously ensure that Monjasa’s industry leading compliance program meets the highest standards and is reflected in culture and systems.
- To provide continuous recommendations for development of the compliance program.
- Continuously work on levelling out potential knowledge gaps between commercial teams and specialists.
- Observe and adapt to changes in regulatory frameworks that may occur overnight.
- Remain actively informed and aware of regulatory developments, ensuring sanctions compliance and evolving Monjasa’s screening models, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure day-to-day business conduct is in absolute compliance with Monjasa compliance policy & procedures.
- Exercising the highest standard of care, due diligence and critical thinking in all vetting and screening processes.
- Zero bribery & corruption practices; Review, improve and evolve Monjasa’s scope and methodology on ABAC.
- Liaising with external data providers.
- Developing and building further on established relationships and engagements as a member of IBIA, MACN and other industry forums.
- Actively living Monjasa’s values.
- Actively complying with Group policies and guidelines.
As Compliance Senior Manager, you will either work from the Fredericia or Copenhagen office. You will Lead the global compliance team consisting of three specialists, located in Dubai, Panama, and Cyprus, and you will report to the Group Responsibility Director at Monjasa.
Profound experience working with compliance, preferably in a global context
You, most likely, but not necessarily, have an educational background in the legal field. However, you could also come with a background in shipping, or finance, working with AML, risk, or anti-fraud. Your educational background is not the defining criteria for your success in this role. What matters most is your experience and genuine interest in the field of compliance. Thus, we imagine that you have a minimum of 4 years’ experience working with compliance, preferably, within the oil or shipping industry.
Since the role is globally founded, familiarity with compliance in an international context will be considered an advantage. You can communicate fluently in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
On the personal level you have high morals and are very purpose driven. You have a natural interest in compliance and company governance structures, and as a result hereof, you keep yourself informed about the societal, and political factors that can impact the business in a compliance-context. In addition, you are naturally analytical and have a curious mindset, and you are a strong communicator with great interpersonal skills. You have a proactive and structured approach to everything you do, and you manage to navigate in an area where focus on detail and pace and deadlines goes hand in hand.
