Now, we are strengthening our Sustainability & Corporate Affairs organization and are looking for a
Head of LCF Sustainability Compliance – Sales & Distribution
to lead and develop downstream sustainability compliance across the Nordic markets.
How you’ll help drive the change
Joining St1, you’ll be part of a business that’s actively investing in the energy transition. You’ll lead a team responsible for ensuring that the renewable fuels St1 supplies to customers across Finland, Sweden and Norway meet all relevant sustainability and regulatory requirements. You can be based in any of these countries.
This is a role at the intersection of energy regulation, commercial operations and sustainability. You’ll translate EU and national renewable energy legislation into practical compliance processes, and work closely with our sales, supply chain and trading teams to make sure our renewable fuels — including HVO and Sustainable Aviation Fuel — are compliant, well-documented and ready for market. You’ll also oversee reporting obligations related to the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS 2) as it applies to road transport and buildings.
Your daily impact
In this role, you will:
- Make sure the renewable fuels St1 sells meet national sustainability and compliance requirements in each market
- Turn complex EU and national energy regulations into clear, workable processes for our sales and supply teams
- Lead and develop a team of compliance specialists across three countries
- Own compliance reporting, audits and documentation across our main markets
- Work with sales teams to support voluntary sustainability reporting for customers
- Be St1’s point of contact with national regulators and industry bodies on renewable fuel compliance
- Track regulatory changes and assess how they affect St1’s business
What you bring to the team
We’re looking for a collaborative and pragmatic leader who enjoys working with complex topics and diverse stakeholders. To thrive in this role, you likely have:
- Experience in biofuels, fuels, energy or climate regulation — such as the EU Renewable Energy Directive or emissions trading
- Experience leading or managing a team
- Strong understanding of how EU renewable energy rules are applied at a national level, particularly in the Nordics
- Experience working with regulatory authorities or sustainability certification schemes
- An understanding of sales, distribution or downstream fuel supply
- The ability to explain complex rules clearly and build practical processes around them
It’s an extra spark if you also have
- Experience with emissions trading reporting and monitoring
- Know the Nordic energy regulation landscape well and have existing contacts with authorities or industry groups
- Finnish, Swedish or Norwegian language skills
How we support your journey
At St1, your safety and wellbeing come first. We offer an open and inclusive workplace where you’re respected and trusted to take initiative. In a hands-on, informal culture — and a business that never stands still — there’s room to explore ideas and take on new challenges. We support your journey through learning and opportunities to grow across teams and countries.
You’ll work on something that matters — helping bring renewable fuels to market responsibly — with competitive pay, a bonus scheme and real opportunities to develop your career internationally.

The position is based in Helsinki, Stockholm or Oslo, and occasional travel within the Nordics is required.
