Section Manager for Global Safety and Health

Rockwool

Lead Safety on a Global Scale

ROCKWOOL is looking for an experienced and ambitious professional to take on the role of Section Manager for Group Safety & Health. Based at the global headquarters in Hedehusene, you will lead a team of specialists and play a central role in shaping how safety and health are embedded across ROCKWOOL’s worldwide operations.

As the company expands with new factories in Europe and North America and acquisitions in Asia, the demand for strong governance, safe workplaces, and a proactive safety culture has never been greater. This role offers you the chance to influence at both strategic and operational levels in a family-owned, value-driven company with 12,000 employees worldwide.

Driving safety and health performance across borders

As Section Manager, you will be part of the Group Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) organisation, working closely with the Senior Director SHE and fellow Section Managers. You will lead a team of 5 skilled specialists located in Denmark and Poland and ensure alignment between global strategy and practical implementation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing your team, providing direction, structure, and motivation.
  • Translating SHE’s strategic goals into actionable initiatives and section-level plans.
  • Developing global standards and procedures for safety and health.
  • Advising factories and project organisations worldwide on legislation, audits, and incident follow-up.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to senior management, ensuring safety is embedded in ROCKWOOL’s growth initiatives.
  • Building cross-functional networks to drive continuous improvement and support a zero-accident culture.

This is a newly created leadership role where you will be instrumental in building cohesion and clarity in a recently reorganised team.

Safety leader with international outlook

We are looking for a leader who combines professional expertise in safety and health with the ability to empower highly skilled specialists. You bring:

  • Leadership experience with the ability to set direction and foster collaboration.
  • A technical or scientific degree and several years of relevant SHE experiences.
  • A background from an international industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety legislation and management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with audits, training, and implementation of safety initiatives.

You are pragmatic, structured, and resilient, with the patience to drive change and the robustness to handle resistance. Just as importantly, you have excellent interpersonal skills and can influence without relying solely on formal authority. Fluency in English is required; Danish is an advantage. Experience with Vision Zero, machine safety, Global strategy for health or project safety will be considered a plus.

Why ROCKWOOL?

At ROCKWOOL, you will join a financially strong, family-owned company with a long-term perspective and strong values. You will gain visibility and influence at the highest level while ensuring safety for thousands of colleagues worldwide.

This role offers a rare combination of strategic impact and operational relevance – shaping group-level direction while seeing tangible results in factories and projects. For the right candidate, it is an opportunity to make a global difference in a company committed to sustainability, people, and performance.
