These trends are particularly relevant in the Nordic markets, and BAT is therefore seeking an experienced Government Affairs professional to shape and execute external affairs strategies in Finland.

About the role

As Government Affairs Manager you will report to the Head of External Affairs – Nordics, working within a team of 7 experienced professionals. You will work in close collaboration with the business and have a huge impact on the decisions being made.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading strategies to ensure that government regulations impacting the business operations are balanced and fair. You will act as BAT’s primary representative in the market, managing relationships with governments, political institutions, and other key stakeholders. Additionally, you will monitor and analyse the external political landscape to ensure that regulations support both business needs and BAT’s corporate reputation. Your role will also involve coordinating all external activities to address regulatory issues in alignment with their business strategies.

About you

To success in the role we expect you to have proven experience in government and regulatory affairs, ideally gained within an FMCG company, political or public institutions, consultancy, or in-house roles. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of government and regulatory processes and a strong track record of managing diverse stakeholders on complex regulatory issues. Proactive communication skills are highly valued.

Additionally, the candidate should be fluent in both Finnish and English, with proficiency in other languages considered an advantage.
