The role and key responsibilities
NCC Industry is looking for a Head of Health and Safety to lead and further develop a best-in-class Health and Safety function. You will play an active role in the business area, as well as in the Group Health and Safety function, contributing to overall development and collaboration across the Group. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing strategies, processes, and systems to make informed strategic decisions and capitalize on market opportunities.
NCC has a decentralized organization, and as Head of Health and Safety, you will drive the strategic goal of reducing common accidents and eliminating serious incidents and fatalities within your Business Area. This includes building relationships with colleagues and subcontractors, tracking progress on shared initiatives. You will cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders within NCC to position Health and Safety as an integral part of our business. You have the budget and personnel responsibility for a Nordic organization of 12 employees and report to the Head of HR Industry with a dotted line to the Head of Health and Safety, NCC Group.
Your experience and background
This is a unique opportunity for a health and safety executive to join a high-performing team and contribute to a leading business in an exciting industry. We are seeking a self-driven individual with a robust health and safety skillset and proven track record, who can balance leading the development of a health and safety team with acting as a strategic partner to the rest of the management team.
You should have an academic degree and experience in health and safety, ideally at or near the Business Area lead level in a large company, with experience managing multiple stakeholders. You excel at building strong relationships with internal Business Areas/Divisions, functions, and suppliers, and you make full use of the capabilities of a large matrix organization. Additionally, you thrive in a setting where you can make an impact at a strategic level while handling both tactical and operational tasks.
You are a mature leader who is dedicated, driven, and solution-oriented, with a natural interest in how health and safety can contribute to business success. Your proactive mindset and structured approach will support the development of the health and safety function. You enjoy collaborating with others but are equally comfortable making bold decisions independently when necessary. Fluency in English and Swedish is required for this role.
