Global in-house Insurance Specialist

Monjasa is experiencing significant growth globally, both business and organizational wise, which has escalated the need for in-house insurance competences to cover all their global activities with insurance consultancy in a centralized role.

As Insurance Specialist your primary responsibility is to ensure that Monjasa’s insurance coverage (e.g. P&I, hull & machinery, war risk, cargo, health, travel, real estate, general liability, pollution, automotive) is suitable for the scope of all business activities and their risk appetite. You will identify gaps and overlapping coverage and ensure that ‘what is needed to have’ is fulfilled on a group level. Therefore, you will be in contact with many internal and external stakeholders and be the go-to person on all insurance related matters.

Overall, your areas of focus will be:

• Ensuring the right coverage and maintaining an overview of insurance policies
• Review and negotiate policy terms and premiums
• Review insurance related terms in commercial contracts, tenders etc.
• Claims handling

As Insurance Specialist, you will sit either in Fredericia or Copenhagen and you will join the global legal team of seven professionals located in Monjasa’s offices in Fredericia, Dubai and Panama City. You will report to the Group Legal Director at Monjasa.

Profound experience working with insurance, preferably in a global context

You have a relevant educational (most likely, but not necessarily, legal) background combined with min. 4 years of experience working with insurances, preferably within the oil or shipping industry, P&I Club, Insurance broker or other types of business with similar exposure to marine insurance. Since the role is globally aimed, it will be considered an advantage if you are familiar with insurances on a global scale. We are looking for a person with outstanding numerical and analytical skills, expertise in risk management, and excellent problem-solving skills. You are proficient in Microsoft Office and able to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.

As a person, you are ambitious with a curious and holistic mindset. You are a strong communicator and have strong interpersonal skills. You have a proactive and structured approach to everything you do with focus on details.
