Getting the right start is resulting in a faster and better collaboration

Christian Holman, Northern European Service Manager in Bio Rad is responsible for the UK, Nordic and Eastern European countries. The most important starting point for the recruitment process, according to Christian Holman, is to set all the needs and requirements for a suitable candidate.

 

When looking for new engineers to the Nordic countries, Bio Rad is prioritizing both technical competencies as well as finding a person willing and capable of travelling within the countries.

 

Having collaborated for several years with Senior Consultant in Compass HRG, Carl Henrik Edfors, mapping out these competences saved valuable time for both Bio Rad and the team at Compass HRG. Christian Holman is saying: “Carl Henrik has helped us several times, and he’s always being a good partner in finding the right candidates and profiles for our business”.

 

Communication plays a pivotal role

A strong open culture founded on a high level of support is a big part of Bio Rad, as Christian Holman is stating: “The culture of our company is to really support each other and working closely together both in the Nordic region and European countries”.

 

Communication plays a pivotal role for both new employees working closely together with customers on site, as well as in the organisation and throughout the partnership with Compass HRG: “We had a good dialogue and communication during the process. Carl Henrik prioritized status calls, he shared his opinions, and in locations, where it was more difficult finding the right candidate, we could easily change and adjust the criteria’s”.

 

Looking into new industries was a successful eye opener

As in many other industries finding the right talents can be rather difficult in the life science industry. As a solution for this, the process included looking for candidates with similar technical backgrounds in other industries. About this approach Christian Holman is saying: “It gave us highly motivated people, that were truly interested in getting into our area. It was an interesting angel to approach our challenges and turned out to be a successful factor in finding more relevant candidates”.

 

Building and keeping relations

Christian Holman is positive about the collaboration with Compass HRG “Carl Henrik was able to get everything done in a timely manner. He’s keeping his word, delivering feedback and updates, and the hired candidates have worked out in a really good way”.
