Head of Applications & Digital Platforms

Nordic Leisure Travel Group

Nordic Leisure Travel Group (NLTG) is the largest tour operator in the Nordic region, delivering unforgettable holiday experiences to more than 1.25 million travelers each year. With a fully integrated business model spanning tour operations, the Sunclass Airlines fleet, hotel concepts, and the tax‑free retail brand Airshoppen, NLTG operates across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The group has a strong heritage, substantial operational scale, and an ambitious vision of enriching life through travel. Now, NLTG is strengthening the digital foundation behind two of its most business‑critical areas and is seeking a Head of Applications and Digital Platforms to lead this strategic journey.

Shaping the future of digital development for Sunclass Airlines and Airshoppen

As Head of Applications and Digital Platforms, you will define and execute the development strategy for the application landscape supporting Sunclass Airlines (SCA) and Airshoppen (ATR). You will report directly to the CIO and become a key member of the Business IT (BIT) leadership team. The role carries leadership responsibility for a department of 19 employees, including four direct reports, along with a team of external consultants. You will collaborate closely with business operations, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, product management, and executive stakeholders across NLTG.

Your role is central in driving technical sustainability, innovation, and value creation—ensuring that digital solutions are both future‑ready and tightly aligned with the group’s strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the digital and application development strategy for Sunclass Airlines and Airshoppen, ensuring alignment with NLTG and BIT’s overarching direction.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing development organisation, coaching managers and teams to foster a learning‑oriented and motivated culture.
  • Drive organisational and technological change initiatives, ensuring modern ways of working and strong cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Ensure delivery quality, technical health, and sustainable application lifecycle management across systems and services.
  • Represent BIT DK in the Sunclass Management Team, ensuring clear reporting on budget, performance, and priorities.
  • Oversee the development budget, including financial reporting toward Sunclass and Airshoppen, ensuring transparency and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure clear governance and ownership of procured systems, including oversight of licenses and responsibilities across BIT and business functions.

Strategic, innovative, and people‑focused technology leader

We are looking for an experienced digital leader with solid expertise in enterprise‑scale application landscapes and modern development practices. You bring a strategic mindset and a proven ability to translate business goals into actionable digital roadmaps. You have extensive leadership experience managing development teams, vendors, and complex technology portfolios. You understand enterprise architecture principles, cloud platforms such as Azure, and modern application lifecycle management.

As a communicator, you excel at aligning diverse stakeholders and creating clarity across complex environments. You thrive in a fast‑moving organisational context where collaboration, transparency, and cross‑functional problem‑solving are essential. Personally, you combine curiosity, resilience, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team culture. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree is expected, along with fluent Danish and English.

A unique opportunity to set direction and create impact

This role offers a unique chance to shape the digital foundation of two business‑critical areas in a modern Nordic travel group. You will work closely with senior leadership and gain direct influence on strategic priorities and technical direction. NLTG offers a collaborative culture built on curiosity, dedication, and authenticity, as well as strong leadership support, professional development opportunities, and a genuinely people‑focused work environment. You will join an organisation that values well‑being, openness, and cross‑functional teamwork — giving you the platform to drive meaningful, lasting impact.
