Head of Project Support

Rockwool

ROCKWOOL is seeking an experienced and structured leader for the position of Head of Project Support, a key role within the Group Technology organisation. This function plays a central role in enabling strategic projects and ensuring a high-quality, compliant, and well-governed project execution environment across the business.

Role and Organisation

Project Support is part of Group Technology and reports directly to the Vice President of Project Execution. The department comprises approximately nine direct reports (including a QA Section Lead, Contract Managers, Planners, and Project Assistants) and a total of around 18 employees.

The incoming Head of Project Support will set the direction for the department, build structure, and establish the processes and tools that underpin effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Organisational Development

  • Strengthen a reorganised department by establishing clear processes, governance, structures, and ways of working.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a multidisciplinary team across QA, planning, and contract management.
  • Promote collaboration, cohesion, and shared standards across projects and operational companies (OPCOs).

Project Planning Excellence

  • Own and further develop the Project Planning Repository, including methods, tools, and templates.
  • Ensure realistic scheduling, visibility across the project portfolio, and consistent management of cross-project dependencies.
  • Provide demand forecasts that support effective resource planning.

Contract Management

  • Oversee suppliers’ contractual performance and ensure compliance with agreements and specifications.
  • Approve risk assessments and lead escalation processes related to contractual issues.
  • Validate final documentation and deliverables prior to payment and project closure, ensuring corrective actions where needed.

Quality Assurance, Safety & Compliance

  • Govern CE marking activities and ensure documentation meets EU and local regulatory requirements.
  • Review documentation prior to tender release to secure regulatory readiness.
  • Coordinate equipment inspections and risk assessments across different operating units.

Service to Projects

  • Act as a pragmatic enabler who removes obstacles, aligns stakeholders, and creates optimal conditions for project success.
  • Support structured reporting, schedule accuracy, and high stakeholder satisfaction.

Performance Management

  • Define and monitor key KPIs such as supplier deliverables, contract deviations, schedule and forecast accuracy, and CE compliance completion.
  • Drive continuous improvement across tools, processes, methods, and collaboration.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings solid leadership experience and strong expertise in project support disciplines such as planning, contract management, and quality assurance. Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is advantageous.

The candidate should be able to:

  • Establish clear governance and structure in a reorganised department.
  • Engage effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies.
