Global Sales Development with an eye for design

Copenhagen Design has experienced significant growth in recent years, with its products now sold in 36 countries. However, there is immense untapped potential for further growth, both in terms of the current product portfolio and by expanding into new, creative business avenues.

As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving the expansion of B2B sales globally to exclusive, high-end retailers, either directly or through agents and/or distributors. You will be given the autonomy and mandate to ensure the continuous development of B2B Premium Retailer sales across various markets. Furthermore, you will have a wide-reaching influence and must take charge, demonstrating salesmanship.

More Specifically, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting in-depth market analysis, scoping new markets and identifying business opportunities
  • Establishing and maintaining close relationships with premium retailers, agents and distributors
  • Participating in international design conventions
  • Following up on sales, sales activities and agreed budgets with the local agents and distributors
  • Ensuring that agents and distributors are fully immersed in the brand experience, and maximizing product presentation opportunities
  • Providing competitive product, market and business intelligence by staying ahead of trends and industry shifts
  • Negotiating major contracts and sealing deals

You will report to co-owner and CEO Kim Rasmussen. The role is hybrid, and you can work out of your home or out of the Copenhagen Design showroom in Kolding.

Experience in High-End Sales within a Global Context

For this role, we are looking for a candidate with a strong commercial understanding, drive and hunger for developing business within international B2B sales. You most likely have a commercial educational background and hold business acumens and profound experience selling high-end products to international retailers and/or third parties such as agents and distributors. You can communicate fluently in Danish and English both verbally and in writing and preferably are able to speak a third language as well.

We imagine that you come from a similar position, where you have been responsible for driving sales growth outside of Denmark or in specific international regions. You have a keen aesthetic sense and a deep understanding of “what works” in a design context, enabling you to identify with your customers and instinctively provide solutions for how the products can be presented to create value in any given space. You have a natural flair for analyzing and following market trends, which allows you to further connect with customers, understand their needs, and adapt your sales strategies accordingly.

You thrive in working both operationally and strategically with sales, and you are motivated by turning prospects into profitable business. Your approach to sales is characterized by a creative mindset and a structured methodology, ensuring that you can think outside the box when developing sales tactics while still following through with precision.
