Bittium is now looking for an experienced
Business Controller
to spearhead the development of the Medical Business Segment.
About the Role:
As a business-driven Business Controller, you will play a key role in analyzing the business performance of the Medical Business Segment through financial data, providing leadership with actionable insights to drive growth and development. Your responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and developing reporting processes, all with a focus on supporting strategic decision-making and enhancing business operations. You will also monitor and analyze business performance, maintain and enhance key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop internal controls. In addition, you will support both internal and external accounting activities and drive operational improvements through insightful financial modeling and analysis.
In this role, you act as a trusted advisor and partner to business leaders, challenging assumptions and offering data-driven alternatives to optimize business performance. Your understanding of business dynamics and ability to connect financial insights with operational realities will enable leadership to make informed decisions. You will work closely with senior executives and various departments to align strategies with financial and operational goals, ensuring a strong connection between business objectives and measurable outcomes.
As a member of the segment’s management team, you will actively participate in discussions, challenge the management team based on financial and operational analysis, and contribute to the overall success of the business. The position can be situated in either Espoo, Oulu, or Kuopio.
Qualifications:
Bittium expects you to have a strong business background (8+ years of business experience, with at least 5 years in a financial or business controller role), with a deep understanding of financial management. You have a proven track record of leading financial planning, budgeting, and reporting and you possess a strong understanding of business operations having worked closely with departments such as sales, marketing, and operations. Experience in multinational or complex business environments is considered an advantage. You possess strong financial analysis and modeling skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles and advanced knowledge of financial software and ERP systems.
You are a team player with excellent organizational and communication skills. With a strategic mindset and strong business acumen, you collaborate seamlessly with senior leaders and thrive in fast-paced environments, driven by a commitment to delivering results. You have obtained a suitable university degree, for example, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Fluency in Finnish and excellent command of English, the company’s working language, are essential.
