Food Folk, the operating company of McDonald’s in the Nordics, is currently in search of a dedicated and talented Nordic Senior ESG specialist to join their newly established Sustainability Team. In this multi-faceted role, you will play a crucial part in driving key sustainability initiatives across the spectrum of environmental, social, and governance (E, S, and G) factors.
About the role
As Nordic Senior ESG specialist, you will contribute to defining, developing, and maintaining strategic commitments and goals aligned with the Nordic sustainability agenda. Responsibilities include establishing systems for collecting and maintaining sustainability data, facilitating decision making and reporting. Through data analysis, you will actively participate in important projects, integrating sustainability considerations across the business.
You will also manage organizational processes and governance of McDonald’s sustainability strategy in the Nordics. This involves developing key presentations, tracking and reporting on strategic commitments and goals, and leading the delivery of sustainability reports and communications to stakeholders. Monitoring external agreements, commitments, standards, and legislation will ensure the business operates sustainably.
- Act as subject-matter expert for sustainability analytics, governance and reporting
- Define and maintain measurement methodologies for impact on strategic sustainability topics
- Safeguard the relevance of methodologies and performance framework by monitoring new standards, legislation (such as CSRD and EU Taxonomy) and best practices
- Ensure compliance and external assurance by documenting and controlling sustainability impact data and supporting external auditors
- Maintain and improve data products and solutions for sustainability impact data, and conduct strategic analysis on the value chain level
- Lead and influence people through indirect leadership
Your profile
To succeed in this role we believe that you have a keen interest in sustainability, problem-solving and process improvement. You come with a bachelor’s or master degree in business, finance, engineering or environmental science, along with minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, such as sustainability analysis, data analytics and ESG reporting. We expect you to be familiar with ESG reporting frameworks, social impact measurement, carbon footprint accounting and survey design. Additionally, you have a good understanding of GHG reporting standards and excellent data sourcing and analysis capabilities.
