Regional Purchasing Manager

Regional Purchasing Manager

ROCKWOOL

On behalf of ROCKWOOL, we are seeking a Regional Purchasing Manager position based in the Vamdrup factory to join the Sourcing, Procurement & Purchasing (SPP) team. You will have the responsibility for the two important regions Nordics & UK. It is expected that you can spend approximately one week per month at the facility in UK.

Your future team

You will become part of the SPP department and report to the Purchasing Director who has four Regional Purchasing Managers in direct reference. Your own team includes 9 FTEs, located in both Denmark and other countries. The aim of SPP is to generate the greatest possible value while delivering what the organisation needs to operate effectively and efficiently. We recognise the importance of sustainable and responsible sourcing. We encourage our professionals to seek out innovative solutions that promote sustainability and reduce carbon footprint. We try every day to have the right material and supplies in time, in the right place, at the right cost to ensure that our business keeps running smoothly. To accomplish this, we are empowered to take responsibility, prioritise decisions and work autonomously every day. We have the possibility of pursuing a global career and being part of bringing our function to the next level of excellence.

What you will be doing

As a Regional Purchasing Manager entrusted with the responsibility for the two important regions, Nordics & UK., your primary role is to assume a solid managerial position, ensuring the optimal functioning of the teams within these regions. Regular collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders at the factories in your jurisdiction is a key aspect of this role. Notably, you will engage closely with senior leadership in the regions, including the Managing Director, Finance Director, and others.

Additionally, you will take on the task of crafting comprehensive roadmaps for various initiatives across the regions, ensuring their successful execution. Your role goes beyond mere management; it involves fostering collaboration, encouraging teamwork, and aligning initiatives with the broader goals of the regions. Your management style emphasizes inclusivity and effective communication, creating an environment where diverse perspectives thrive.

Being successful in this job, it is important that you both mentally and cognitively, can grasp and understanding the senior leadership’s strategic challenges, while operating effectively at both operational and tactical levels, and simultaneously handling a broad spectrum of tasks. There are many stakeholders involved, so maintaining an overview is essential.

What you bring

To succeed in this role, you can come from a variety of backgrounds. It is expected that you have an academic degree in supply chain management, engineering or another similar field. You bring a minimum of 5 years of experience from a supply chain or procurement/purchasing function, and you have extensive experience in working strategically and communicating with CXO-level stakeholders. You have extensive knowledge of inbound supply chain processes, preferably in SAP, but other ERP experience is also welcome. You are in possession of good management skills with the ability to make an impact. Experience with management of remote employees is considered an advantage.

As a person, you are proactive and curious to take on an important change management role in creating and maintaining the road map of the future frame for purchasing.

We know that you might not meet all the things on this list, but you might bring skills and experience that we haven’t even included here.

What we offer

The role presents a compelling array of attractions, starting with the exciting learning opportunities embedded in the challenges it offers. Working in Sourcing, Procurement & Purchasing means diving into a stimulating environment where challenges are not just tasks but gateways to new insights and growth.

Moreover, the leadership style is characterized by an expectation and trust in your capabilities and dedication to the job. The Purchasing Director not only anticipates but also believes in your ability to contribute effectively. This creates a supportive atmosphere where your skills and efforts are recognized and valued.
